1. About this policy
House Of Occult Global LLP (“House Of Occult”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, our mobile app and our courses, and is written to follow India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
2. Information we collect
Account details: your name, email address, phone number and password, when you register.
Learning data: the courses you join, your progress, practice work, assessment results, certificates and any feedback from instructors.
Birth and chart details: if you use our practice lab or software tools, the date, time and place of birth and other details you enter. You give these only for the purpose you choose.
Payment details: when fees apply, payments are handled by our payment partners. We receive confirmation of the payment, but we do not store your full card or bank details.
Technical data: your device, browser, language and theme choice, and how you use the site, collected through cookies and similar tools (see our Cookie Policy).
3. How we use your information
To create and run your account and give you access to courses.
To record your progress, give instructor feedback, and issue and verify certificates.
To process payments and send receipts and important service messages.
To answer your questions and complaints, keep the platform secure, and improve our courses.
We use your data only for the purposes above, and for any other purpose only with your consent.
4. Consent
We ask for your consent in clear language before we collect your data for a purpose. You can withdraw consent at any time, and withdrawing is as easy as giving it. Withdrawing may mean we can no longer provide a service that needs that data.
5. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with: service providers who help us run the platform (such as hosting, payment, email and analytics providers), who may use it only for our instructions; our instructors, where needed to give you feedback; and authorities, where the law requires it.
6. Storage and transfers
Your data may be stored and processed on servers operated by our service providers, which may be outside India. We transfer data only as permitted by Indian law and ask our providers to protect it to a similar standard.
7. How long we keep your data
We keep your data only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as the law requires. When you ask us to delete your account, or when the purpose ends, we delete or anonymise your data. We may keep limited records, such as payment records and certificate verification records, where the law or a valid business need requires.
8. Your rights
You have the right to: know what personal data we hold about you and how we use it; correct or complete it; ask us to erase it; withdraw your consent; nominate another person to exercise your rights if you cannot; and have your grievance addressed. To use any right, write to us at connect@houseofoccult.in. We will reply within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
9. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your data, including encryption, access controls and monitoring. No system is completely secure. If a breach affects your personal data, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.
10. Children
House Of Occult is meant for people aged 18 and over. A person under 18 may use it only with the verifiable consent of a parent or guardian. We do not track the behaviour of children or show them targeted advertising.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The new version applies once it is published here, with the effective date changed. If a change is significant, we will tell you before it applies.
